A deep amber colour, a furry head, soft, creamy, fruity scents all with a soft, rounded, smooth palate with a taste of walnut ander a lingering dryness disguise the formidable strength of this beer.

It was on a holiday to Italy (of all places) that I first experienced the world of fine Belgian beer. When my uncle first introduced me to Chimay and Leffe I would never drink beer the same ever again. Now I am a huge fan of belgian beers (particularly

RE: Bush My expectations were high for this beer after I read some good reviews, but unfortunately I couldn't persuade myself to like it. I felt the high alcohol content ruined the flavours, the strong and unpleasant "sharpness" didn't sit well and it la

RE: Bush (continued) lacked a certain "mellowness" of both flavour and aroma which makes great belgian beer...well...great!!

Monk's Cafe http://www.ripsneakers.com/monks/ makes a barleywine that is substantially bigger than the EKU 28. Funny how this is in Brussels, and Beer Mania dosn't represent.

EKU2 might be the strongest beer in the world, but it tasts like vommiting. Even when a pub gives it for free no one would finish to drink the first one because of the terrible tast. BushBeer on the other hand has a very nice tast.

Actually, EKU 28 has an A.B.V. of only 11%. Bush is 12%, and tastes better.

Look to Norway. The norwegian brewery "Nøgne Ø" has an ale called 'Dark Horizon', 2nd edition now available, with 16% alc/vol. Further information available on 'www.nogne-o.com'. Coming to Norway, it's worth a try. Trust me, the beer is very special, expencive and tastfull.

...not even close to the strongest beer in the world...Avery Brewing Co. (Boulder CO.) Samael & Mephistopheles Ales both come in @ 17.4% & 16.5% respectively...and let's not forget Mikkeller Black Stout @ 17%....there are a number of others at 13% & 14% as well, but no need to go on & on - they're all great just drink & enjoy!

Try Dog Fish Head - Rehobeth Beach Delaware , US -120 minute IPA. (best on tap) 20% alc. light in color, great head, and tastes great not like cough syrup as most do above about 12% alc.

I lived in the Mons ,Belgium area for three years around the late 80's early 90's and drank myself silly sampling the best beers(in my opinion) in the world. Being a U.S. army officers spouse, I paid almost nothing for the greatest beer testing experience of my life. My favorite was the Chimay "Blue" that was a steadfast friend all that time. Bush was a close second with all the others a close third. I never met a Belgian beer I didn't like and my friends in the Frankfurt, Germany area would hound me to bring a couple of cases on my visits. Belgium;truly the Disneyland of beer!

I agree with Don. I have also lived in Mons Belgium for 3 years and I really loved a beer named Trol. As far as I know, it is produced by the same Bush brewery. Belgium is the ultimate beer paradise.
